A little closer to your cat
PurrJung is a free project in the OpenJung family. You answer questions about how your cat treats people, plays and rests, and we turn your answers into a type description and care tips. You don’t have to guess about things you haven’t seen. A result that leans neither way stays that way, and you can retake the quiz later.

The four dimensions and 16 character types are a design framework. A type is a starting point for noticing habits, not a permanent label. Choose care and companions based on the individual cat, not a type code.
How we write and check content
Who writes it
PurrJung’s pages are written and maintained by the PurrJung project, part of OpenJung. We use AI tools to draft and translate. Before a page is published, we check what it says against the sources it cites; the other language versions are prepared the same way and published together with the English one. No veterinarian reviews the content, so no page carries a reviewer’s name.
Where the facts come from
Health, care and community-cat pages are our own summaries of public material from veterinary references, animal-welfare organizations and research papers. Each section links its sources directly, with the original title and language. A citation does not mean that organization endorses or has reviewed our text. Breed and coat entries include summaries adapted from Wikipedia under CC BY-SA 4.0. The 16 types are a playful framework of our own; no study validates them.
Dates, re-checking and corrections
Each topic shows the date its sources were last checked, and each guide article shows its own update date. We check sources again when we add or change content, and we change the date only after actually re-checking. We do not promise a fixed schedule. When we find an error, we correct the page and update its date.
