When a parcel arrives, it is the first to inspect it and stays until the box is open. It likes being in the room where people are, but not being picked up. Around the same time each day it reminds you about dinner, then waits for the usual wand-toy game.

A home that fits
Put a mat or a stool in the room where the household gathers, so it can be with people without being held. Open parcels on the floor and let it finish the inspection. The basket at the end of the hallway is where its day ends; keep it there.
Whatever the type, every cat needs food, water, a litter box, safe rest and play within easy reach. Adjust the home to this cat and to the cats already living there; a type cannot decide whether cats should live together.
Small things to try
- Offer short shared play sessions, with an easy way to leave.
- Introduce one cat-safe toy or activity at a time and watch the response.
- Offer nearby company without picking up or holding your cat in place.
- Keep everyday care predictable and make necessary changes gradually.
What the type does not tell you
Easy to misread
Coming to remind you about dinner is not an attempt to run the house. It has learned when dinner happens and is checking that it still does. Sitting in the same room without wanting to be picked up is company too, at the distance it prefers.
When it is not about personality
It normally tells you when dinner is due. If the reminder stops, or it comes to the bowl and leaves food it used to finish, treat that as a change in appetite. Note how much it eats and drinks over the next day or two; a marked drop in appetite deserves a prompt call to the vet.
A change from this cat’s usual pattern is a reason to check the body first. Note what changed and when it started, and ask your veterinarian instead of putting it down to the type.
