A home that fits
Keep a corner of the family sofa for it, and a clear path to the front door, where it likes to meet whoever comes home. It rests where the people are, so a bed in an empty room will mostly stay empty.
Whatever the type, every cat needs food, water, a litter box, safe rest and play within easy reach. Adjust the home to this cat and to the cats already living there; a type cannot decide whether cats should live together.

Easy to misread
Running to the door at the sound of keys and following you inside can look like constant asking. It likes being where the family is and has learned when everyone comes home. Asking to be petted at set times is a habit, and it still decides when the petting ends.
When it is not about personality
A cat that meets you at the door every day makes one change very visible: the day it does not come. It is tempting to say it is sulking. Look at what else changed that day, such as eating, drinking, the litter box and how it moves, because one sign can have many causes.
A change from this cat’s usual pattern is a reason to check the body first. Note what changed and when it started, and ask your veterinarian instead of putting it down to the type.
